Currently gearing up for their interiors exhibition with Anna Glover at Craft Central for London Design Festival, as well as continuing work on their furniture production (made to order and bespoke pieces), and small accessories line, I wouldn’t be out of line in saying that the folk at Temper Studio are busy bees.
“Our aim is to design without dogma and to learn from the materials through incessant experimentation — ultimately, to produce pieces that are both quietly beautiful and intellectually fascinating” says George Winks, who founded Temper a couple of years ago.
In his series of serving boards, PLANE, Winks utilises differing varieties of British hardwood; Walnut, Sycamore and Pippy Oak. Hand-rubbed in Danish oil and natural beeswax, each board is unique due to the natural products and their angular shape and polished surface … making them the ideal kitchen accessory; a contemporary design piece at rest.
Available in three sizes, prices start at £42 for the small board with large from £70.
