In a city so often celebrated as a hub of creative minds, you’re naturally spoilt with galleries, project spaces, museums around each corner. One that overshadows many is the C/O gallery at Zoologischer Garten.

C/O is an exhibition centre for photography and visual arts founded by photographer Stephan Erfurt, designer Marc Noraska and architect Ingo Plott, and attracts the biggest names in photography: Annie Leibovitz, Gregory Crewdson and Robert Mapplethorpe can be found alongside young and rising talents.
After leaving their former Berlin Mitte location in 2012, C/O was looking for a suitable new location for two years, finally finding it in Berlin Charlottenburg — further evidence of the West’s rising hipness. The new location itself is a historical and architectural treasure; the Amerika Haus reflects the shifting relationship between the United States and Germany following the end of WWII, and is designed upon plans of German SOM architect Bruno Grimmek.
C/O’s exhibitions really are second to none, the gallery confirming itself as one the world’s most respected photography galleries; a quick look through 2016’s lineup substantiating said position. A must-stop for visitors to the capital of creativity.
