Creative coder Andrea Cuius-Boscarello sent us his recent collaboration with designer Roland Ellis, and rather mesmerising it is too. The sound reactive light installation – using beautiful vintage lamps, courtesy of Historic Lighting – was commissioned by poet Sabrina Mahfouz for her solo show Dry Ice, with 30 eerily elegant tungsten lamps forming a kind of luminous alcove from which the intimate performance could take place.
The smooth oscillation of the lamps is controlled by real time analysis of audio captured from the show’s conversations and interactions, the individual characteristics of each light giving the installation a unique character all of its own.
