A place for travellers to feel at home, guest experience is paramount here. From the friendly concierge and receptionists to the team at DECK Sixteen—who happily prepared an off-menu margarita that turned out to be the best we’d had on South Beach—and the staff who cleaned our 340 sq ft oasis with a smile each morning. A refreshing alternative to the larger hotels on Collins and nearby Ocean Drive—many of which We Heart have road-tested on previous trips to Miami—Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami is a modern-day haven in the Magic City.

Set your alarm (or rely on jet lag) for the spectacular sunrise creeping up over the the Atlantic each morning, catch the early birds getting their fitness on before the stifling heat, or the late-night stragglers making their way home, whilst you’re sat on your bed swathed in thick bathrobes (surely contenders for the global number one spot) with a hot cup of coffee or healthy juice in hand.
DECK Sixteen, the hotel’s day-to-night rooftop restaurant and bar boasts more views over Miami Beach‘s iconic thoroughfare, and guests of the property can enjoy chaise lounge chairs and towels at the beach or the rooftop pool, which—adorned with loungers and cabanas—might not offer the same welcome breeze as the beach, but means a cooling dip is just steps away.
From breakfast to weekend brunch, lunch or dinner, DECK Sixteen is a sweet little spot featuring indoor and outdoor seating with a menu inspired by the Mediterranean. It’s also a beauty of a terrace to sip cocktails as the sun sets on another day before hitting the famous bars and restaurants of Lincoln Road, Española Way or beyond.
Coffee and juice addicts will love Joe & The Juice, the hip Danish chain—currently conquering the States one flat white at a time—serving up fresh food in a slick industrial space fitted out with midcentury furniture. Us ladies will bow down to the Shangri-La that is Drybar, a salon dedicated to blowouts which transformed my week-long Miami-humidity-damaged frizz ball into a tousled and textured ‘do straight out of a glossy fashion mag in under an hour.
Delivering the sort of hospitality proposition one might expect in New York City or London, Hyatt Centric‘s urban alternative gives a sense of looking in on the madness of Miami Beach from a tranquil far.
