St. Petersburg‘s Petrogradsky Island is home to Sight Coffee and Dine, a new restaurant and coffee shop designed by Moscow-based architecture and interior design studio, Form Bureau.
At 150 square metres, the petite spot is tucked away on a small street in the historical district, and comprises two spaces. The first is found at the entrance, where guests can order a coffee and snack to go, or enjoy inside chatting with friends or perhaps working. In the space towards the back, diners can linger over a long brunch, lunch or dinner. The vibe and café culture here on Petrogradsky Island are very much akin to what you’d find in Brooklyn or Melbourne. Form Bureau retained the original concrete and brick walls, adding marble, metal and semi-opaque plastic in the preservation process. A fusion of natural and man-made, the space features lush greenery that rises up towards a garden sculpture hanging from the ceiling, which is complemented by a pink marble bar counter and breccia floor. An outdoor courtyard is the highlight on warmer days, whilst in the colder months, diners huddle inside watching their food being prepared in the partly visible kitchen.
A wonderful spot to snack, sip and socialise, St. Petersburg’s Sight Coffee and Dine is a stunning space to inspire locals and visitors in this handsome neighbourhood.
