Located in the Grade II listed Bradmore House, on the ground floor of Hammersmith’s private members’ club Kindred, Cellar is an all day café, counter and bar, open for leisurely breakfasts and lazy weekend dinners; chef Andrew Clarke having curated a menu that exudes his signature style, using local meat, fish and vegetables to create an ingredient-led and micro-seasonal offering for the club’s members and hungry public alike.
Known for his past hospitality ventures, Brunswick House and St Leonards (as well as his mental health campaign, Pilot Light), Clarke pays homage to his extensive world travels by way of simple and confident flavour profiles. The menu at Cellar is designed for sharing, and including dishes such as fried cod cheeks with harissa mayo and lemon; home-cured sea trout with radish, kohlrabi and dill; Korean spiced tartare of Dexter beef served with straw chips; and Ox cheek puffs with prune and tamarind ketchup.
Interiors were completed by Run For The Hills, who worked on Bath’s incredible TIVOLI Cinema, with the design of the 50-cover restaurant inspired by the informality of relaxed European cafés and wine bars. Expect a mix of muted greens and natural leathers blended with Kindred’s signature palette of brass, blackened steel and natural timber finishes. With seating for up to 60 people outside, Cellar’s own terrace is shaping up to be one of West London’s most vibrant al fresco hotspots this summer.
Complementing the food menu is a wine list by Zainab Majerikova focussing on Central European wines, and a cocktail list created by mixologist Julian de Féral; revellers able to enjoy signatures such as Kindred Spritz, Regency Rhubarb Punch, or West 6 Buttered Up all in an imposing venue that inspires from first to last impression.
A gathering place for morning, noon and night, Cellar at Kindred is a neighbourhood restaurant with serious style.
