For an authentic industrial-chic staycation, Native Manchester offers the privacy of a home with all the benefits of a hotel in Manchester‘s creative Northern Quarter.
Housed in a Grade II-listed warehouse on Ducie Street, the 162 luxury and serviced apartments boast a spacious living room, kitchen, an area to work and contemporary design; the large and lush apartments featuring high brick barrelled ceilings, golden lights, modish furniture and a curated art collection. Ideal for both short and longer stays, they’re luxurious yet comfortable, and manage to be homely whilst retaining the sense you’re in a hotel.
During our early September visit, Artside——a collective of creatives furthering their skills by showcasing their creative worldview——were hosting an exhibition in the hotel’s huge, glass atrium; the artists themselves on hand to offer friendly and insightful words about their works. We spent an hour or so after breakfast in the space taking in its vastness, people watching, and of course, perusing the art before heading back to our apartment and getting ready for a few hours on the Manchester cobbles.
Very much a social spot as well as a place to lay your head, culture is at the heart of Native Manchester, from art to cinema, talks and workshops, to pop-up markets and music. Located in Manchester’s vibrant Northern Quarter, packed with independent shops, bars, restaurants and music shops, the buzz from the neighbourhood is in abundance here at the Ducie Street Warehouse restaurant and bar.
Whether counter dining, taking in the views of Manchester’s canals from the outdoor terrace, or grabbing a table inside, this is a place to devour flavoursome tasting plates, sip on cocktails, natural wines and craft beers, and settle in for some good ole northern revelry.
From spacious apartments and penthouses, to hip social areas, a private cinema and inspired cultural programming, Native Manchester offers an alternative take on accommodation in this buzzing northern powerhouse.
