The Hoxton debuts in Germany, choosing West Berlin‘s upscale Charlottenburg district to house its stylish new 234 room hotel. Designed by Ennismore’s in-house design studio, AIME Studios, rooms are defined by Art Nouveau forms that nod to the neighbourhood’s architectural landscape, as well as expressive design details that feature a muted colour palette of pinks and greens, wooden herringbone flooring and elegant lighting. Scalloped headboards frame beds topped with Naturalmat mattresses, whilst vintage-inspired furniture adds a luxurious yet chic touch.
Available across seven categories — Shoebox, Cosy, Cosy Neighbourhood, Roomy, Roomy Twin, Biggy and Biggy Up — all bedrooms here in Charlottenburg feature Hox favourites including Roberts radios, a neighbourhood survival guide, fridges stocked with water and fresh milk, and tea and coffee as standard.
Located in the heart of Charlottenburg surrounded by a wealth of eclectic bars and cafés, the Hoxton are set to draw the local crowd to the hotel through The Teahouse, and House of Tandoor. Open from from morning to night, The Teahouse offers a breakfast counter stacked to the brim with naan sandwiches, fresh Indian-influenced pastries, fragrant loose-leaf tea, masala chai and Bonanza filter coffee; whilst those looking for something a little heartier can chow dine in House of Tandoor where dishes such as Bombay potato hash with fried egg, raita, and pomegranate, and Vada Pav, coconut and garlic chutney, and fried egg, are shipped up for hungry diners. Come nightfall, The Teahouse converts into an intimate cocktail bar, whilst House of Tandoor offers a curated wine list to go alongside killer dishes such as Amritsari crispy Lamb Chops, and Black Pepper Chicken Tikka.
Evoking the classical elegance of Charlottenburg and the opulence of the grand palaces and hotels in Kolkata and Bombay in the 1920, both spots are set to become local destinations in their own right, as is de rigueur for The Hoxton.
In keeping with their ethos to work with local partners The Hoxton, Charlottenburg, will feature a curated selection of local artisan products for sale, including everything from skincare to kombucha, pottery and books will also form part of the The Hox Shop collection, and the team from NYC-born, Berlin-based magazine Record will supply vinyl to the store, as well as to a lobby turntable listening hub, and will also host live gigs in The Apartment; the hybrid meeting and events space which features in every hotel.
Extending their community-forward, design-driven approach to Berlin, The Hoxton continue their rapid but considered expansion with typical aplomb.
