The end of summer saw Forza Wine open a second venue in a very prestigious location; the independent South East London restaurant brand choosing the National Theatre as its latest home.
Located on the north-west terrace of one of London‘s most iconic Brutalist landmarks, the 160-cover indoor and outdoor space will be open year-round keeping Londoners and visitors alike well hydrated. With an accessible natural wine list, and regularly rotating cocktail selection, guests can enjoy a pre- or post-theatre drinks and snacks in seriously stylish surrounds.
Befitting of its location, interiors include a selection of banquette seating and high-top tables, concrete ceiling tiles, and leather sofas, while a private dining terrace tucked away on the balcony and surrounded by greenery for more intimate occasions, is serviced by one long table seating up to 24.
Starting life as a supper club in 2012, founded by friends Bash Redford and Michael Lavery, Forza Wine enjoyed five successful years before finally opening the rooftop wine, cocktail and snack bar Forza Wine in Peckham, and later Forza Win, a sit down restaurant in Camberwell. A “pinch me’ moment for Bash and Michael, their move to the Southbank is their biggest to date; the National Theatre not only a world-leading theatre and one of Europe’s most famous Brutalist buildings, but also one of the best terraces in the capital.
Open from midday to midnight daily with epic views of the Southbank and River Thames, a “sort of Italian” inspired menu offers dishes such as cauliflower fritti with aioli, and pancetta potato cakes and pickled cabbage, to pair with that well curated natural wine list. Forza Brutalism! Forza great food! Forza Wine…
