Honey & Co open a new spot on Bloomsbury’s Store Street, calling upon award-winning studio (and previous collaborators) Studio Found to design a space that complements the existing Honey & Co outposts across London, while having its own unique identity as a more relaxed and flexible venue.
Named Honey & Co. Daily, the new site opens with a deli and takeaway space at the entrance where hand-baked goods, salads and a selection of hot plates can be bought for consumption in the café beyond. Previously a Co-Op store, Studio Found and Honey & Co owners Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer worked closely to deliver a result where the design was operationally viable across all the different spaces for both customers and staff, and where flexibility was key; the venue having to be able to accommodate events and parties as well as function as its main purpose.
Whilst the shopfront has retained its existing palettes of red granite and dark grey glazing frames, Studio Found selected a pale pink tone for the fascia to tie the exterior and interiors together. Inside, customers will find tactile materials and an airy base palette upon which richer materials could be introduced to enhance it. The ceiling and services were deliberately retained to add a feeling of functionality and a connection to the working bakery downstairs, albeit sprayed white to give it a fresher look and to blend in more seamlessly. Banquettes were upholstered in pale leather and simple linen as a contrast to more striking cushions which add flashes of colour. Throughout the space a combination of rustic oak and walnut have been used to add a natural elegance, the grains adding subtle organic shapes.
Known for serving up delicious Middle Eastern food across their eateries, Honey & Co Deli is a new offering that enables customers to choose between pastries, cakes and lunches to go, a sit-down menu in the 40-cover dining room, as well as weekly supper clubs and other events. Welcoming, wholesome, and wonderfully designed, Itamar Srulovich, Sarit Packer and Studio Found look like they’ve gone and done it again.
