The A’ Design Awards, has published its latest World Design Rankings, a chart and heat map which arranges all countries that have been granted an award. Based on the number of individual designers who represent their countries, these awards are categorised into Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron Design Awards, with the total score calculated and announced as World Design Rankings.
Leading the way with 4,562 awards and a score of 16,048, China boasts a whopping 130 Platinum, 626 Gold, 1,614 Silver and 1,298 Bronze awards. Second spot goes to the USA with 1,434 awards and a score of 5,033, followed by Japan with 788 awards and a score of 2,914.
With 114 countries represented, this makes the A’ Design Awards, a competition that aims to promote good design practices and principles, the world’s largest. Open to both concept-stage and realised work from all entities in all countries in all disciplines — the A’ Design Awards boasts 100 categories and many more subcategories — the overall goal is “the betterment of society through good design.”
Entries are voted on pre-established voting criteria following blind peer-review process. Jurors include established scholars, prominent press members, creative design professionals and experienced entrepreneurs who devote great care and attention when making their selections across disciplines including Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design; Home Appliances Design; Street Furniture Design; Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design; and Website and Web Design.
As well as adding to your country’s design creds, winners can expect to receive prestige and recognition from their peers; a 3D Printed Metal A’ Design Award trophy; space allocation in the winners’ exhibition; free sales listing at SaloneDelDesigner; and an invitation for two to the highly anticipated gala-night.
