Opening today, 28 February, Hôtel Hana Paris is the latest addition to the Adresses Hotels Collection, a fancy group of decadent boutique hotels that includes Monsieur George and Saint Tropez’s La Ponche; the five-star luxury property set to redefine contemporary elegance with two contrasting
aesthetic currents: the opulence of early 20th-century maximalism and the stylish simplicity of Japanese minimalism.
Located close to Paris‘s Opéra Garnier and Galeries Lafayette, Hana — meaning ‘flower’ in Japanese — is a 26-room property that includes two stunning suites and invites its guests to “envision dreams and harmony,” throughout spaces that evoke a feng shui ambience and invoke a distinct sense of calmness.
A meeting of minds between the fashion industry’s Olivier Leone and architect and interior designer, Laura Gonzalez, the duo have created an establishment that is as equally graceful as it is luxurious: “a true jewel box combining the qualities of both a cocoon and a boudoir,” they say.
A commitment to creating a fluid spatial experience allows the passage of natural light throughout the interiors, with Gonzalez having crafted a cohesive, tasteful, and welcoming atmosphere through the precise intention of infusing life into the surroundings and furnishings. Calling upon wabi-sabi techniques, the overall result is a deft fusion of materials, fabrics, and colours; a testament to the collaborative efforts of artisans including Sonja de Monchy, Ateliers Roma, and Signature Mural.
The hotel’s restaurant-bar, Hanabi, features an open kitchen where travellers and gastronomes join one another to relish in an explosion of flavours. The menu has been curated by Shirley Garrier and Mathieu Zouhairi, known collectively as The Social Food, and proposes plates such as beef tartare with nashi pear; soba salad with marinated vegetables and miso sauce; and egg mayonnaise with white sesame.
