Manchester‘s Deansgate is home to Electric Shuffle’s latest (and largest) venue, the experiential bar renowned for serving cocktails with a side of shuffleboard situated in a former Evans Cycle shop in the heart of the city centre.
At 11,400 square feet, the space combines art-deco industrial design and influences from Manchester’s famed musical and broadcasting heritage, and features a colour palette of mint, pink, green, and deep red, while an art-deco-style central bar serves as the focal point and is where Electric Shuffle’s signature spinning neon turbine — inspired by old power stations — can be found.
Other nods to electricity, power and industry — Manchester was the world’s first industrial city — include an interactive control panel that lights up in time with the music, and authentic touches such as concrete wall finishes and exposed conduit. The team also commissioned local muralist, Oskar with a K, to create an ‘Electric Power Company’ mural above one of the bar’s play spaces, making an eye-catching statement as you traverse the venue.
Designed by the in-house design team of Red Engine (the hospitality group behind Electric Shuffle and Flight Club), gold disco glitter balls add a touch of glamour to the space and reflections of light, while neon signs adorn the walls, including a Top of the Pops-themed one, and broadcasting paraphernalia such as ‘BBC’ and ‘on air’ lightboxes, as well as odes to the local area including a ‘Piccadilly Radio’ lightbox.
Electric Shuffle Manchester offers a social experience like no other, including 15 play spaces with a capacity for up to 450 people. Customers can experience addictive and high-energy games, semi-private shuffleboard areas dotted around ‘that’ stylish bar, a curated cocktail list, and a tempting menu of small plates and sourdough pizza.
Having transformed shuffleboard since opening its first venue in 2019, with state-of-the-art cameras to track the position of every puck and automatically keep scores, Electric Shuffle is a place to head with friends, have good times and create lasting memories.
