Following a successful first 12 months, Amsterdam‘s Stacks Diner opens Stacks Deli, located just three doors away and set to offer a variety of fresh baked sweets, soft serve ice cream, and sandwiches to complement the American homestyle cooking of the now-renowned diner.
Designed by Stacks Studio, the deli’s interiors incorporate floor tiles sourced from a 100-year-old French château, which provide a historical patina and a sense of place. Wood panels and meticulously crafted stainless steel details draw inspiration from classic Southern American delicatessens, whilst the central column is covered in a custom-designed tile by the Dutch company Palet, adding a modern layer and colourful touch to the space.
Alongside the goods mentioned, the deli will also sell the diner’s signature sauces including chimichurri, ranch, hot sauce, and Caesar dressing. In addition to these offerings, Stacks Deli will sell a line of packaged foods such as frozen biscuits, spice mixes and pancake mixes enabling guests to make their meals at home. Here, responsibly sourced ingredients are a top priority, owner Kevin Kearney ensuring that all products are primarily local, responsibly farmed and organic.
With menu highlights including sandwiches made with homemade bread, and options such as the Classic Club layered with freshly roasted turkey, crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes, and mayonnaise; or a simple, yet hearty Heirloom Tomato Sandwich with Salsa Macha; and gelato served from a state-of-the-art soft serve machine by Carpigiani, Stacks Deli is sure to be as popular to Amsterdam’s foodie fanatics as its retro diner sibling.
