A new multisensory, Ayurvedic-centred wellness concept has opened in the heart of New York City, offering space for rituals of food and drink, community, and design. Founded by entrepreneur Sonam Sangmo, OASES is set over 4,755 square-feet and features a café, bazaar, and restaurant; all providing an evergreen escape from the pace of city life.
Ancient traditions for healing and wellness unfold in modern ways, the concept guided by Sangmo’s Himalayan and Buddhist upbringing in India, providing customers a place to nourish the mind, body, and spirit. In the OASES Café, patrons can choose from in-house dining, or the grab-and-go experience for those seeking clean nourishment on the move.
Located in the venue’s tranquil vegetable garden, the café serves nutritious breakfast and lunch options including the brand’s signature pancakes, offered in flavours such as raw cacao, ube, and ‘Ceremonial Matcha’; superfood acai bowls; organic smoothies and a whole host of other healthy pleasures. Drink options include high-grade Japanese matcha and teas from around the world.
In close proximity to the café, the OASES Bazaar emphasises consciousness, quality and community, and boasts a selection of eco-conscious products rooted in OASES’s core values across five categories: Organic Pantry, Health & Wellness, Clean Beauty & Body care, Home Wellness, and Creative Wellness.
Designed by Sangmo in collaboration with Studio Rolling and RANSD, being in OASES is akin to feeling at home at a friend’s place, the space located on the ground-floor of a lavish residential building and delineated by soft curves, a muted colour palette, lush greenery and natural materials.
For those looking to stimulate the senses in the heart of ‘The City That Never Sleeps,’ OASES promises to heal the souls of city dwellers with its bold new approach to wellness.
